Recently I read a blog post by Craig Ballantyne about a Day in the Life of and how he get's a lot done. My Day in the Life of will pose the question, "When can I actually get anything done?", here goes:
5am (ish) - get woken up by children
5 - 6 am - start dealing with children and wife. Getting milk, cleaning kids bum, making morning brew for me and wife. Spending time with kids playing in bedroom.
6 - 7:30 am - printing orders for OneOutdoors and buyXsocks. Go to stock room and start packing up. Wife deals with children.
7:30 - 8:30 - give kids their breakfast and get one ready for school while wife gets ready for the day. Maybe fit in 15 mins of stretching.
8-30 - leave house to take daughter to school
9am - be at office for my second job.
9 - 3pm - work on second job and also answering customer calls on OneOutdoors and buyXsocks
3pm - leave office to go to stock room for more packing.
4:30pm - go to Post Office to dispatch all the orders
5:30pm - get home and process dispatches on computer.
5:30 - 6pm - help with kids dinner
6 - 6:30pm - spend time with kids
6:30 - 6:45 - do bathtime with kids
6:45 - go to TaeKwon-Do training (or start home training at 7:30pm)
9:30pm - home from training and have shower and snack
9:30pm - 10:30pm - spend time talking to wife
10:30 - midnight or 1am - spend time working on various aspects of any of the businesses.
BED for a few broken hours sleep and up again at about 5am.
My issue is that to move my on business forward I need to do even less hours at my PAYE job and spend more time on my own business.
Tired
James.
